Seven days have passed with Adeline in captivity. As she braids her hair in a mirror, the creepy blonde girl whom Jerry carried on the first night now asks to help Adeline with her hair. Adeline is uncomfortable but acquiesces, since the girl strikes her as being manic and unpredictable. The girl marvels at Adeline’s hair and introduces herself as Sydney. After braiding Adeline’s hair, Sydney brings Adeline and four other women to a different room, where Francesca criticizes one woman for letting her hair grow and another, Bethany, for having moles. Francesca calls Rocco, her brother, who holds Bethany still and starts cutting off the moles with a switchblade. Adeline exclaims that Rocco is making Bethany “uglier,” and Francesca shoots Adeline a frightened look. Rocco strangles Adeline and sexually assaults her in front of everyone. Adeline is horrified. When Rocco finishes, Francesca pulls Adeline to her feet, but Adeline punches Rocco in the face. Francesca stops Rocco from retaliating, then brings Adeline to another room and slaps her for provoking Rocco. Francesca leaves, and Adeline cries.
